Lead Trainer & Consultant

Joseph Alf is a dedicated and experienced Certified Protection Professional (CPP) with two decades in the safety and security industry. Specializing in community resilience and trauma recovery, Joseph has devoted his graduate studies and career to empowering individuals and communities to thrive beyond adversity.

As a seasoned educator, He has taught thousands of hours and instructed over a thousand students in American Red Cross and Heart Association courses. His areas of expertise include Basic Life Saving, Behavior & Threat Assessment, Conflict Management & Crisis Intervention, and Use-of-Force.

Currently serving his second term on President Gabel’s Campus Safety Committee advisory team, Joseph works to define a system-wide Culture of Safety, with a focus on classroom active violence safety. His commitment to campus security extends to his prior role as Assistant Director of University Security for the University of Minneapolis, where he previously worked as a Training Program Manager.

He spent a decade with American Security as Director of Operations, Procedures, and Logistics. Joe currently serves as Operations Manager at the Institute for the Developing Brain at the University of Minnesota. At Kingswood Security Consulting, he contributes his extensive knowledge as a physical security specialist and lead trainer.
